IAN MACLEOD​

Passed away at home on Friday, November 27, 2020. Ian MacLeod of Maxville; age 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen MacLeod. Loving father of John D. MacLeod (Sara) of Maxville. Cherished grandfather of Ella and Alexa MacLeod. Dear brother of Melba Shaver (late Don) of Toronto, and Shirley Ferguson (Donald) of Maxville. Predeceased by his brothers William and Campbell MacLeod, by his sister Alma Metcalfe (Ian of Toronto), and by his parents William and Grace MacLeod (nee Campbell). Relatives and friends may attend an attendance controlled visitation at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. South, Maxville (613-527-2898) on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 9 am -11 am. For those who wish to attend the controlled attendance visitation must call the Funeral Home between 9 am & 5 pm to register your attendance. A Private Funeral Service in the Chapel of the Funeral Home will follow. A Public Committal Service will be held at the Maxville Cemetery on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 12:45pm.

Thelma Colbourne

Peacefully at the Maxville Manor on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Thelma Colbourne (née MacLeod) of Apple Hill; age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald Colbourne. Predeceased by her parents Cameron and Margaret MacLeod, by her infant brother Stanley and her sister Helen MacLeod (Ian). Cherished aunt of John D. (Sara) and great aunt to Ella and Alexa. She will be sadly missed by the MacIntosh Family; James (Jennifer), Jason (Sommer), Janice (late Dallas), Caitlyn, Connor, Maeve and Nora. A Chapel service will be held at Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main Street South, Maxville, ON (613) 527-2898 on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 11 am, followed by interment in the Maxville Cemetery. Mandatory Masks and Physical Distancing will be required. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Maxville Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Thelma a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.

Yvonne McDonell

Yvonne Beatrice McDonell (nee Perrier), age 74 of Alexandria, passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tuesday October 8, 2019. Beloved wife of Christopher. Loving Mother of Sharon, Todd, and Michael (Catherine). Cherished grandmother of Justin, Courtney, Hannah, Bethany and Lachlan. Daughter of the late Hector Perrier and Dorothy (nee MacLeod). Dear sister of Dianne Perrier and Denis (Helene) of Montreal, Elaine Dale (Rick) of Calgary, and the late Michael Perrier. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am -10:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan's Cathedral, Alexandria on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church Cemetery, Glen Nevis. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Yvonne a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.

Karen MacLoed

Peacefully, at Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 72. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Harold Kenneth MacLeod (December 17, 2014) of Crooked Rd., Kirk Hill, ON. Loving daughter of the late Athol McDonald and the late Edna McDonald (née Wilson). Survived by her sister Dianne Angus (John) of Lancaster, ON and her brother Richard McDonald (Dodie) of Medicine Hat, AB. Predeceased by her sister Catherine Durivage. Dear aunt of Robert, Lyle, Donna, Larry, Adam and Kim. She will also be missed by her farming neighbours, the congregation of St. Columba and by her many friends. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects by way of a Drive-Thru Visitation to be held at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitors will be permitted to stop their vehicles at the front doors of the funeral home in order to convey their condolences; but due to social distancing regulations, visitors will not be permitted to exit their vehicles. A Private Graveside Service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Kirk Hill, ON. Wesley Morrison MacLeod

 

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wesley Morrison MacLeod of Chesterville, Ontario, who passed away on September 1, 2020 at the age of 86. George MacLeod

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in the same farmhouse where he was born just over 82 years ago.  Loving father of Kaitlin MacLeod (Matthew Watts).  Proud grandfather of Griffin Watts.  Dear brother of Donald Norman MacLeod (Merle), Raymond MacLeod (Helen), Flora Poulton (Jim), the late Lorraine MacCormac (Jerry) and the late James MacLeod.  Son of the late Roderick and the late Nora (née MacRae) MacLeod.  He will be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends and neighbours.  George’s family would like to thank Dr. Poilly and the nurses who made it possible for George to spend the remainder of his time in the comfort of his own home.  Family and friends are requested to gather at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kirk Hill, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1 PM. Madeleine McCRIMMON

(July 7, 1917 – March 1, 2020)

Peacefully at the Palace Nursing Home in Alexandria, Madeleine passed away at the grand age of 102.  Madeleine grew up on a farm near McCrimmon Corner. She was predeceased by her parents Donald James McCrimmon and Kate Ann MacLeod, her two younger siblings Kathleen and John Naughton, and her sister-in-law Dorothy (Anderson).  Madeleine was the much loved aunt of Ann (Paul McKinnon), Florence (Jeff Boyd), Donald, and Mary (Kevin Leduc). She was the special great aunt of Danielle and Rachael Boyd, and Madeleine and Michael Leduc.

 

Like her mother and sister, Madeleine chose a career in education and began teaching in the one room school houses at S.S. #1 Lochiel and Cassburn.  Madeleine ventured to the Toronto area and continued teaching at secondary schools in the Waterdown, Fergus, Pickering and Scarborough regions. While teaching, Madeleine continued to study at Cornell University and earned her BA degree from Queen’s University. 

 

In her retirement years, Madeleine returned to the area and developed her passion researching her Scottish heritage and ancestral roots.  She devoted much of her time to the Clan MacLeod Societies of Glengarry, Ottawa and Central Ontario. Madeleine proudly researched and co-authored “Lochinvar to Skye 1794 -1987” book with her cousin Donaldson MacLeod.  She was a devoted member of Kirk Hill United Church. Madeleine was a wonderful story teller and she enjoyed travelling and gardening in her free time.

Donald Wendell

Donald Wendell MacLeod of Williamstown; age 74 years, passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Heart Institute, Saturday, March 6, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Brenda MacLeod (née Irwin)(2018). Loving father of Shannon MacLeod (Andrew MacLachlan). Cherished grandfather of Liam, Ross and Jack MacLachlan. He will be deeply missed by his dear friend, Margaret Gosselin. He is predeceased by his parents Donald Alexander MacLeod and Mary Catherine MacArthur, as well as his cherished sisters, Audrey Cumming (late Bill), Ruth (Popeye) McDonald (late Ewen), brothers John (Lorna), Munro (Gloria) and infant brother Roderick Samuel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd. 46 Oak Street, Lancaster (613)347-3629 on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 10:15 am.
